Ayurveda
is an ancient system of Indian Medicine which deals with the
physical, mental, social and spiritual aspects of human life.
In
Ayurveda life is defined as a unified state of the physical
body, five sence organs, mind and soul.This holstic approach
is unique to Ayurveda when compared to other popular systems
at present. According to Ayuveda a healthy person
(SWASTHA) is one who is established in himself. For
that one has to have
1. Equilibrium of Somatic and Psychic humours
2. A balanced metabolic activity at all levels
3. The seven basic elements evenly nourished
4. Proper drainage of waste products along with a pleasant
mind, sense organs and self.
Two streams are advocated in Ayurveda. One is to preserve
and to enhance the health status of already healthy individuals.
Second one comprises the management of disease and restoration
of health.
PANCHAKARMA:
This treatement is includes five therapeutic procedures intented
to bring changes in the body at the basic level. Panchakarma
is essentially a cleansing process to remove the accumulated
toxins at all levels and also to make ground for proper rejuvenation
of the system. The Panchakarma protocol consists of preliminary
and post treatment procedures. Panchakarma is done both as
prophylatic and curative measures.
RASAYANA TREATMENT:
A unique contribution of Ayurveda which is rejuvenative in
nature and to be followed after Panchakarma. Rasayana has
multidiamentional mode of action. This, cures the disease,
delays the ageing process, sustain immunity, enhance mental
competence if resorted to in the prescribed manner.
This has two protocols
1. Short term therapy with strict indoor regimen
2. Long term therapy with less restrictions.
